This 10-minute homemade baby applesauce recipe is super easy to make and you can freeze it afterward for more than one feeding.
10 minutes is all you need. Whether you’re a first-time parent or 10th-time parent life has gotten busier than you ever imagined. With all the baby food reports out there we aim to do better. I won’t lie I have dabbled into a few. Our pedi recommended purchasing ones that wouldn’t be planted in the ground. That’s where most of the soil comes from anyway. *Always consult with your pediatrician.
We’ll be starting a combo of puree, and Baby Led Weaning next month so we decided to start small and go for homemade recipes like this homemade applesauce for babies. Micah enjoyed it very much and didn’t take much time to make it. We will continue baby-led weaning and purees depending on the day.
We’ve purchased a few different baby food options and Micah has been loving it. Since we had so many apples sitting around we thought to try making our own homemade applesauce. It was easier than I thought. All you need is a blender or food processor, apples, apple slicer, and an ice cube tray.

To start off you need to peel your apples and core them. We’ve always had an apple slicer. It can also core them and slice them in two steps which makes it easier than ever. Then you want to cut them up into smaller pieces depending on what kind of blender you may have. Some just can’t blend bigger chunks.
Just add them into your blender or food processor with 2 cups of water. I did add in a pinch of cinnamon.
You may have to blend it a couple times and add in a bit more water if needed. Then once you’re done take your ice cube tray and just pour it in. Then let it freeze for 2-4 hours. THIS ICE CUBE TRAY is awesome. The bottom is made out of silicone so it’s easier to pop out the cubes but you still get a traditional ice cube tray. Plus these trays make smaller ice cubes.
Voila. Then you can freeze it. I normally take out 3-6 ice cubes of this homemade applesauce at a time.
