It’s that time friends!! Back to school season is on full force. This also means that routines are trying to be normal again. Throughout the Summer I tried to stick to a normalish bedtime routine. Starting in Mid-August for the past two years I’ve started an earlier routine. This year we started youth football which means a slightly later bedtime. Practice doesn’t let out until 7:30 so dinnertime is at 4:30PM. Practice is 5:30-7:30PM. Once school starts it will only be 2-3 nights per week. Snack time is right before bedtime since sports does get him hungry.

A won’t sleep more than 8-9 hours per night. Since school doesn’t start until 8:40 his routine still works. Every kid sleeps differently. 

One thing we implement is storytime before bed. Ironically “How do dinosaurs say goodnight?” is his fave so we’re always on top of this book.

    Bedtime routines and a good sleep schedule are so important for school-aged kids! (PS: we have that same stuffed t-rex and Dinosuar book! haha).

    I’ve struggled so much with the bedtime and sleep routine over the school holidays, really trying to get back onto a better routine before school starts again! Thanks for the tips x

    i had no idea they made them for kids. i have taken melatonin to help me sleep too
