Who else feels like they have no idea what to eat for breakfast on those busy Winter mornings? On top of needing a boosting plus energetic meal, breakfast is one of those meals you just can’t miss. I’m always so busy in between waking up and getting A to school. I don’t always have the time to make breakfast but I also want to stay full, hydrated and energized for the day. That’s why adding protein whenever I can is important as a busy parent.

I totally feel ya on that! I’m sharing a recipe today that will totally help you. Plus it will leave you feeling full up until lunchtime or if you wake up super late and don’t want breakfast this works too. You can even use this one for those mid-day snacks or pre/post workouts. It really helps staying energized.

Hidden Protein Apple Berry Smoothie

This apple berry smoothie I’m sharing today is so delicious. The two main ingredients: MaraNatha® Almond Butter  and Greek Gods® Greek Yogurt  are available at Walmart. This combo also helps me stay fuller for longer with all the protein combines.

I made the switch to MaraNatha® Almond Butter after A stopped his PB&J phase. I love that it is Non-GMO, packed with protein (we all need that right) and even Gluten-Free. Nowadays we’re always looking to eat and drink as healthy as possible. Plus it doesn’t taste like something you feel you have to eat or drink. I love that it comes in great flavors. My two faves right now are MaraNatha® Light Roast and MaraNatha® Dark Roast. I always like to add 3 tablespoons to any smoothie I make which helps keeps me more satisfied throughout the day.

If you’ve been following me for a while you know how obsessed I’ve been with putting greek yogurt in almost everything. Especially, my smoothies. That’s why I loved to use Greek Gods® Honey Greek Yogurt . I love that it is rich and creamy, sweetened with honey which I love, it even includes 7 live and active cultures. Plus it has a good source of calcium which is great for everyone.

To get everything I needed for this protein recipe I popped into my local Walmart.

The ingredients were easily accessible. You could find Greek Gods® Greek Yogurt right in the refrigerated section where find all the yogurts. The MaraNatha® Almond Butter is available in your produce aisle where you find your peanut butter. Walmart is literally my go-to place to shop for all my grocery needs.

  • glass or cup for smoothie
  • blender
  • 3 TBS MaraNatha® Almond Butter
  • 1 cup Greek Gods® Honey Vanilla Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 to whole apple
  • 1 cup frozen or fresh berries
  • 1 cup almond milk


  1. Combine all ingredients in blender
  2. If using fresh fruit add in 1/2 cup of ice
  3. I always put in MaraNatha® Almond Butter
  4. Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute
  5. Voila all done and enjoy
