Don’t you just love that October is basically over? That means Christmas home attire will be just about out. Even though we haven’t even had Thanksgiving yet? How is that even possible? It really is. Many stores I’ve been to ironically already have their Christmas decor out but not Thanksgiving. In essence this fun easy holiday DIY is a great universal DIY for both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Plus they’ll make room smell great with THESE.

Supplies needed:

  • Plain clear or colored dish. If you can use a holiday themed shaped one.
  • Spraypaint: I chose red since it can blend with both holidays Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Pine Cones
  • Latex Gloves: So you don’t get the paint all over you. It is water based but can be a pain to wash off.

Most of these items you can grab at your local Dollar Tree, Craft Store or Amazon.

Directions:

  1. Lay your dish down on a cardboard box or news paper
  2. Spray the dish about 1 foot away from you. Spray 2-3 coats on so it has just about enough coating to last.
  3. Let dry for 15-30 minutes
  4. Style pine cones however you like.
  5. Tada your Fall dish is all set. This is also a great dish for candy at those holiday parties etc.

Oh it’s adorable. I love pinecones and bought the cinnamon ones from Michaels and I love them filling up my house and this would be a great way to display them.

I love that this is a relatively simple project. I get overwhelmed when there are too many steps. And I love the simplicity of the pine cones. Great seasonal project!.

WHat a great and simple idea. Pine cones are my favorite – my family picked up so many from our last trip to New Mexico

I’m not the best DIYer so simple crafts like these have my name all over them. I like getting crafty and using things I find in nature to represent the season.

DIY’s from Dollar tree are the best. Plus they are so inexpensive so if you feel you messed up it’s not a total loss to restart.

This turned out really nice! I could totally see doing this with some cinnamon scented pine cones to add a little cheer in the home.
